These terms set out how I work with you on made-to-measure and altered soft furnishings. They're meant to be fair and straightforward, so if anything's unclear, just ask.

Quotes & estimates

Quotes are based on the measurements, fabrics and finishes agreed at the time. Because every job is bespoke, a quote may be revised if the work, fabric or measurements change. A quote is valid for 30 days unless I tell you otherwise.

Measurements

Where I measure on site, I take responsibility for those measurements. If you supply your own measurements, the finished sizes are made to them, so please check them carefully, as I can't be responsible for items that don't fit because of measurements provided to me.

Fabrics & materials

I work with a range of fabric houses and can also make up your own fabric. Natural fabrics may vary slightly in colour, pattern and weave between batches, and patterned fabrics need extra material to match repeats. Please keep your own fabric clean and undamaged before it reaches me.

Deposits & payment

For made-to-measure work I usually ask for a deposit to cover fabric and materials before starting, with the balance due on completion or fitting. I'll confirm the amounts with you in advance. As bespoke items are made specifically for you, deposits covering ordered fabric are non-refundable once cutting has begun.

Timing

I'll give you a realistic timescale and keep you updated. Lead times depend on fabric availability and my current workload. I'll always do my best to meet agreed dates, but can't be held liable for delays outside my control, such as supplier delays.

Your right to cancel

You can cancel before work begins and I'll refund any deposit less the cost of fabric or materials already ordered on your behalf. Once your bespoke items have been cut or made, they can't be cancelled or returned unless they're faulty.

Faults & care

If anything isn't made as agreed, please tell me as soon as you can and I'll put it right. This doesn't affect your statutory rights. I'll provide care guidance where relevant; damage from incorrect cleaning or everyday wear isn't covered.
